That's A Wrap!...

Hi there! I'm checking in from a very windy and chilly Seattle. As many of you have been following along for a while know, I have been producing a documentary about Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and the auto-immune diseases which fall under it's umbrella. I am delighted to share that we wrapped filming late Sunday night! Our director, James Hughes, who is based in the UK, did remarkable job of directing with a "box", that allowed him to direct remotely from the cinematographers lens in his home.

Here are some pictures from the last two weeks of production on LIFE INVERTED:

Dr. Gillian Ehrlich being filmed by Cinematographer Ellie Ann Fenton next to the Hyperbaric Chamber at her Seattle clinic.

Dr. Ilene Ruhoy in her office in Seattle. We are so grateful to her and all the participating doctors for sharing their stories, advice and expertise in this documentary. Her interview alone is outstanding.

Makeup artist Bek Harvey worked so hard and took every precaution to keep the cast and crew safe. Her enthusiasm and love for life and the entire film industry shines through each day she works. Not to mention the fact she keeps everyone laughing and smiling. Love you, Ms. Bek!

Late-night shooting in West Seattle, right above the water. The cast and crew were true sports keeping going despite the chilly breeze.

I had to grab a shot of the incredible view. Seattle was my home for over 20 years and the city will always have a special piece in my heart.

I'll make sure to post more updates as they come during post-production. But for now, we are feeling elated (and exhausted) to have finally made it through production after a long pause due to covid. I want to personally thank the entire cast & crew for being a part of this important message and for all their hard work. We did it!

It's All Happening

LIFE INVERTED isn't the only film I've worked on with exciting updates to share:

Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom was made by my friend Pawo Choyning Dorji (@pawo). I am thrilled to announce that his feature film is officially an entry for the 2021 Oscars! This is only the second time in history that a film from Bhutan has been selected for consideration by the Academy Awards. You can find out more here, Variety featured the great news! In addition to the Oscar entry, Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom has won multiple awards around the world including the Prix du Public at the Saint Jean De Luz international film festival in France. There is no one more deserving than you, Pawo. Congratulations, my friend!

That concludes my post for today, I am beyond grateful to work amongst such creative, passionate, and hardworking minds. Producing films is a deep passion for me, helping people achieve their dreams while making stories come to life that can educate and inspire. I hope you all enjoyed the update and will tune in to some virtual film festivals this fall.

Sending love and light,

xo
